At Camp Potlatch, our best kept secret is that, even though we’re “in the wilderness” every single interaction and activity is still designed to propel kids towards our 4 big life impacts: relationship skills, healthy living behaviours, a lifelong love of learning, and leadership skills. That they don’t know they’re learning is just fine with us, because what matters most is that they have fun while they’re experiencing it all… ’cause that’s what being a kid is supposed to be all about.
So, while you might expect me to list all of the programs and activities we do here, it’s more important for you to know that BGC is helping kids develop into who they’re meant to be… their best selves… all the while, helping them to avoid going down the wrong path. And, they come back from Camp Potlatch with these incredible intangibles: new friends, self-confidence, and the ability to face challenges. If you don’t believe me, here’s what their parents report about their campers experience:
All of this cleverly disguised as Summer Camp. And to be clear, we can’t do it without you. The donations we receive from people like you each year help us to ensure that every kid who wants to go to camp gets to do just that. Here’s how you can help this summer:
COSTS OF THE BEST SUMMER EVER
$1,000 – the full cost for a kid to benefit from Camp Potlatch (Note: $575 is the official registration fee)
$500 – supplies for all of the friendship bracelets, painted rocks, and Camp necklaces this summer
$250 – pays for a fully outfitted pack for the Bella Bella girls cabin (7 and 8 year olds) to sleep under the stars
$100 – enough marshmallows for a full season of marshmallow roasts and camp fire stories
$50 – feeds one camper for a full session of adventures, challenges, and life long memories
Thanks for believing in what’s possible when kids get to be kids!
