Here’s the deal: We’ve made the difficult, but right, decision to not hold a Gala this year (in person OR virtual). Why? To keep you safe and to follow the rules. But, we still know that our friends want to help us, so we’re bringing you a different approach, because we know we can count on you right now. BGC has been here for a long time, is here right now, and will continue to be here keeping things as normal as possible for those we serve.
And, here are the straight goods: We know that many, around the world, and right here amongst us, are suffering and are significantly affected by COVID-19. We also know that many of us are still relatively “okay” overall. In fundraising, the most important thing to do during a crisis is to continue to ask for the help you need – always respectfully – because people continue to want to help, and if we don’t ask, you might not give.
Our goal is to still raise what we did last year: That means $350k in net funding. Why? Because we’re still serving kids, youth and families, many of whom are in the category of “not okay” as a result of COVID-19 because of job losses, restrictions, and reduced services and supports.
As a friend of BGC, we hope that you’re doing well, despite all of the current challenges. And, if you are, we hope that making a gift to BGC is something that you feel you CAN and still want to do.
