Summary of Responsibilities
The Foundation is seeking a self-motivated, energetic person to work with our Resource Development team where every team member plays a critical role. The Event Coordinator assists with the preparation and implementation of event activities. This involves working closely with members of the community and the resource development team. The Event Coordinator manages details and tasks related to the successful planning and implementation of our signature fundraising event.
The Resource Development team is responsible for raising funds to support the programs and services offered at BGC South Coast BC.
Job Duties
HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
- Coordinates and implements our signature event, Club House Gala
- Coodinates pre-event, day-of and post-event logistics
- Solicitation of gifts-in-kind, silent and live auction items, and vendor support
- Coordinates tickets sales tracking, reporting and database management
- Manages event volunteer recruitment and training with support of Volunteer Coordinator
- Leads all event preparations and logistics
- Responsible for distribution of event information to attendees
- Leads event day implementation
- Coordinates event follow-up and wrap-up
- Assists with budget control
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
- Two years of experience coordinating events.
- Understands ethical behaviour and business practices and ensures own behaviour is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills with the ability to think critically and resolve issues.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficient time and general management skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, researching the internet etc.
- Experience with DonorPerfect and ReadySetAuction would be an asset.
- Class 5 driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle when needed.
- Clear Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector).
- A passion for programs that support kids in being the best they can be!
Note
This is a full-time (37.5 hrs./week) contract position ending September 2025 with possibility of extension. Position includes a starting salary of $51,675 per annum, three weeks paid vacation (pro rated in first year), paid sick and personal leave, paid birthday off and up to 5 days statutory holiday substitution days per year to celebrate/recognize religious, cultural, and/or personal days that are important to the employee where those days are not currently recognized as statutory holidays in BC/Canada).
