Today is Pink Shirt Day!
For 17 years, BGC has proudly partnered with CKNW Kids’ Fund to champion Pink Shirt Day, and to support all the work that goes into combatting bullying. And, over this time we’ve seen some pretty amazing progress. We’ve seen legislation enacted against bullying, workplace policies that prohibit it, and a shift in attitude against bullying – especially in kids.
But combatting bullying also means spreading kindness where we work, go to school, and in our communities so that we can create safe spaces where EVERYONE feels like they belong. It may seem simple, but a little kindness can have a BIG impact.
Every day at our Clubs, we see the amazing things that happen when we work hard to cultivate these spaces. Kids and youth develop positive relationships that are good for them, they gain confidence, make friends, and they learn that there is no room for bullying in their worlds.
So today, we hope you’ll join us in coming together to stand up against bullying, and to share a little kindness with the people in your life. We promise it’ll go a long way!
