In an effort to continue to provide service during COVID-19, Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC (BGC) is providing programming and services virtually/from a distance. BGC will use software and applications provided by third parties that participants, parents/guardians, and/or staff will access via the Internet for purposes of communication, programming, and receiving services. These platforms will primarily include (but are not limited to) Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
Our commitment to keeping the people we serve safe is always our number one priority. BGC will actively monitor participant activity on the online platforms and will make every effort to protect their personal information. BGC understands that the platforms being used continue to update their security settings routinely, and we are committed to adopting those security settings including, but not limited to, using new links with passwords for each meeting, never posting a link publicly, ensuring that people are using their correct name for entering a meeting, not auto-admitting people into a meeting (only the host can allow people in), disabling screen sharing and recording of video, and ensuring that there are correct ratios for supervision and moderation.
Further, all activities online must comply with BGC’s safety policies, including the Code of Conduct and Social Media Policy.
