At BGC, we offer two government funded hybrid (online/in-person) employment programs that help youth living in the Metro Vancouver Regional District (MVRD) enter or re-enter the Canadian workforce.

Each program has slightly different criteria, so please make sure you check your eligibility before applying.

EMPLOYMENT NOW

Are you aged 16 to 29 and need to find work?

Have you faced a mental health challenge?

Our FREE program helps you get hired!

Program outline: A FREE program of up to 6 weeks of group-based workshops and training, job opportunities in Customer Service / Retail Sales / Hospitality or Office Administration / Clerical work, followed by 3 months of one-on-one Job Coaching support.

  • Receive a cash completion bonus of $300 once you finish the training, plus additional cash bonuses for getting and keeping a job
  • Design a resume and cover letter that gets noticed by employers
  • Master the secrets of successful job interviews resulting in more and better job offers
  • Continue to meet one-on-one with our professionally trained staff to improve your results
  • Get hands-on experience by accessing on-the-job training with our employer partners
  • Support to address barriers to employment and connect to services in your community
  • Financial supports for transportation, clothing and footwear to have you looking your best!

YOUTH EMPLOYABILITY PROGRAM

Are you aged 15 to 30 and need to find work?

Are you eager to gain new skills, acquire work experience and land a job!

Are you seeking assistance to strengthen your employment prospects, overcome hurdles posed by a disability, or break through barriers as a member of a marginalized group?

Our FREE program helps you get hired!

Program outline: A FREE 8-week program of 4 weeks of online and in-person group-based workshops and certificate training, followed by up to a 4-week work experience placement with a local employer! Youth are $PAID an hourly wage while attending the workshops as well as during the placement.

  • Virtual and in-person workshops include interview skills, resume & cover letter preparation and a variety of topics to help you find and keep a job
  • Short-term certificate training to get noticed by employers and improve your employability
  • Ongoing one-on-one support from our youth employment services team to support you in achieving your employment goals
  • $$$ Completion bonus available $$$
