Hello again,
Yes, I will admit that the subject line is a shameless (and hopefully a bit comical) attempt to make you open this email! Here’s why: last month, I shared how kids feeling safe creates the required foundation for them to grow up well, and how that is a key outcome of the work Boys and Girls Clubs do.
I think it’s fair to say that we’re all concerned about the risk that children and youth will end up off track: in gangs, using drugs, dropping out of school, involved in or victims of crime, or socially isolated and lost. Boys and Girls Clubs are providing the antidote for those risks every day to thousands (+5,000 annually, to be more specific) of local kids. And, it all starts by giving them a place in their neighbourhood where they feel safe and that they belong.
I love seeing how many of you open and read these emails, and in case the message is sometimes too subtle, I also hope they’ll provoke your spirit of generosity. We are only able to do this work because people choose to make charitable gifts to BGC. So, as spring is springing all around us, I hope you’ll consider making a gift that will help one or many amazing kids grow up to live their best life.
