They came. They saw. They laughed. They gave.

Comedy for a cause is what Friday, March 15, 2019 at Rocky Mountaineer’s The Station was all about. Nearly 250 fans of comedy and Boys and Girls Clubs gathered for an up close and personal night of laughs with Canada’s premier comedy format, The Debaters with Steve Patterson (along with celebrated comedians Charlie Demers and Katie-Ellen Humphries). Stand-up, and a debate about the pros and cons of making dodgeball core curriculum over-delivered on the promise of laughs. The unexpected appearance of long-hated gym teacher, Mr. Hanson, was “uncomfortably hilarious”, and put the perfect finishing touch on a great comedy set.

All of this, and the funds raised, will directly support BGC’s youth programs, focused on keeping them out of gangs, off drugs, helping them finish school, and giving them the skills they need to launch into adulthood.

“Founding” sponsors for this inaugural event include Cisco, Vancouver Dodgeball League, and Rocky Mountaineer. They were joined by KPMG, Raymond James Ltd, and PwC.  easyhome Ltd, PSAV, 101 Brewhouse, Red Truck Brewing, Nude Vodka Soda, and Vision Event Photography rounded out the list of local companies who pitched in to make this an incredible kick off to an annual fundraising night.

Check out the fantastic photos from the night by our friends at Vision Event Photography.

Stay tuned for the 2nd annual Comedy Club House date in early 2020!
