Are you between the ages of 18 to 24 and want to work in Customer Service or Retail Sales?

This new FREE program is focused on making sure you have the skills and opportunity to get hired.

Let us give you training, get you an interview with an employer, tour an employer’s work site, beef up your resume through a work experience placement, receive training even after your hired, and even offer to pay a portion of your wages!

Sessions are offered throughout the Lower Mainland. We have limited space, so BOOK NOW!

Eligibility:

  • Aged 18 to 24 by the start of the program (programs typically run once a month)
  • Legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Unemployed or precariously employed
  • Not participating in another government funded employment program
  • Not a full-time student

What we provide:

  • Three weeks of training covering skills specific to customer service and retail sales jobs, interview techniques unique to those roles, resume and cover letter preparation for those jobs, and much more
  • Training and certifications (such as Cashier Training, FoodSafe, First Aid, etc.)
  • Tours of work sites along with guaranteed job interviews with employers
  • One-to-one coaching to help you find a good job

READY, SET, WORK – DELTA

Eligibility:

  • Residents of North Delta, Ladner & Tsawwassen.
  • Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Landed Immigrant eligible to work in Canada.
  • Currently unemployed and/or not attending school.
  • Have not established an EI claim in the last 3 years and/or maternity leave claim in the past 5 years.
  • Individuals who are most likely to benefit from assistance with long term job search, supported work experience, targeted wage subsidy and follow up services.

What we provide:

  • Four weeks of facilitated group work, followed by 6 weeks of job development assistance.
  • Job coaching and preparation for employment.
  • Short term training necessary in today’s labour market.
  • Opportunity to train and work with a BC employer.
  • Job placement with targeted wage subsidy.
  • Up to 3 month follow up support.

SKILLS LINK

The Skills Link program assists youth (ages 15-30) who have had difficulties making a successful transition to the labour market. During the 17-week program, participants receive an hourly wage for 5 weeks of classroom training and 12 weeks of work experience.

WORKBC DELTA

Starting April 1, 2019, your WorkBC Employment Services Contractor in Delta will be MOSAIC. Boys and Girls Clubs is pleased to be supporting MOSAIC as a partner in this service. The WorkBC Centre locations will remain the same (see below).
