In just about a month, BGC’s 10 neighbourhood Clubs will open their doors to kids and youth – all day long for the WHOLE summer. And, not just a few kids. A LOT of kids.
BGC’s summer day camps are a big way that we (and you!) can come alongside and support local families. That’s because from 8:30am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday, Club is a safe place for kids and youth to belong while they are out of school.
During this time, kids and youth can explore their interests in a place that really feels like THEIR place. A place where they don’t feel like they’re being supervised (but they are), and a place where they CHOOSE how they spend their time. They can try things out, fail (safely… and still get to, and want to, come back the next day), and make friends in a place – and in ways – that give them a sense of independence.
That might look a little different for every kid, so we make sure that there’s something for everyone from sports and physical activity to games and creative arts, STEM, leadership programs, and even field trips.
But we need your help to make sure that every kid, youth, and family that wants (or needs) access to BGC this summer has that opportunity.
