Hi Friend,
Finally, May is here, and with it, the promise of summer!
That means that here at Boys and Girls Clubs, we’re busy putting together our plans to provide thousands of kids all of the summer fun that they deserve while school is out. If you’re reading this, then you’re already a friend of ours. And on the theme of friends helping friends, I’m emailing to ask if you’ll help us spread the word.
You see, the vast majority of people think that we’re just a place for kids to be while their parents are at work…either in our city Clubs, or at Camp Potlatch. And, we’re so much more than that…intentionally SO much more than that.
For more than 80 years, we’ve been working in a different way with kids and youth. Yes, we give them a place to be while their parents are at work, AND offer all the programs and activities that you’d expect us to: sports, creative arts, cooking programs, homework help, outdoor activities, and the list goes on. So, what more is there? Well, we’ve honed our approach to working with kids by creating an environment and experience that feels very different to them: BGC is a place where they WANT to be, and where they, without even noticing, experience enduring, positive change as a result of being in a Club or at Camp Potlatch (or both).

In our rapidly changing world, it’s hard to be a kid. The skills, lessons, and experiences our kids get from BGC are exactly what they will need to not only survive, but to thrive in a world that most of us as adults will not do as well in! We need your help to do just that.
